Today is our sweet friend Adelaide’s fifth birthday. Her mommy and I were pregnant at the same time and I remember holding her right after she was born ~sigh~. Adelaide’s fifth birthday made the reality of Shep’s pending (in six months) birthday a bigger reality to me ~gulp~. I started to tear up thinking about it last week!!! To anyone who’s wondering if all those moms are right when they say it all goes by so fast, don’t doubt them they’re telling the truth! If I had this much of a deep breath moment of someone else’s baby turning five I can only imagine myself sending my babies off to college. Don’t even get me started on the fact that KINDERGARTEN is coming up!!!
Since Adelaide at the precious age of five had decided to have an all-girl princess party later this week, I decided that we needed to celebrate her with some of her boy friends too. Ok that’s partially true. I also decided that this was an excellent excuse for me to whip up a princess party utilizing all of the princess paraphernalia that I have laying around (tiara, pink dress, pearls, princess cupcake cups, Disney music etc.). So yesterday we had a little bitty mini princess party celebrating and bemoaning the fifth birthday of Adelaide Joy. And although I did have on full princess regalia, there are no pictures to prove it because we mommies were too busy keeping the little dears from killing themselves and wiping icing on the furniture

Happy birthday to you!

Shep really loves his friend Adelaide. He has no idea there is such a thing as an all-girl party, the little dear.

Joel was determined to eat his cupcake without using his hands.

Rhett had no such qualms.

Happy birthday sweet Adelaide! We love you so much!
