Beth Dreyer Photography Blog bio picture
  • Hi I'm Beth! Welcome to my blog! I am a Dallas, TX based custom baby, child and family photographer. I'm also a mom of two boys who strives to be fabulous {while managing snot, drool and spit up}, organic {in a chemically overdosed culture}, budget conscious {in a spendy metroplex}, keep up with a house {with a hectic schedule} and stay sane on top of all that. I write about all of those topics here in addition to posting all of my latest photography.

Ten Interesting(ish) Things

1.  It is Monday afternoon and there are some things on my list that I have been putting off for – umm – too long to mention.  So today is the day!  Today! I’m! putting! them! off! again!  Glad we got that cleared up.

2.  It is a little bit cold in my office.  This is causing my engagement ring to flop around my cold finger.  I don’t like this.  I’m taking it off and placing it on top of the stack of CF cards sitting next to the keyboard.  Hopefully I won’t forget it there and then panic three hours later when I realize it’s gone.

3.  I simply adore sunshine and warm weather in January.  The boys and I have been having our lunch on a picnic blanket in our backyard and then playing around until naptime.  Usually playing around consists of my sprawling myself across the blanket with my eyes closed, soaking up the sun while the boys alternate between playing amongst themselves and running and jumping on top of me.

4.  It is not a good idea to let your 20-month-old hold the bottle of sprinkles and assume that because he’s 20 months old he will not be able to open the bottle and dump the sprinkles all over the living room rug.  Not a good idea at all.  Not that I know from personal experience.

5.  It takes approximately one hundred years to coach a four year old boy through cleaning up his room.  Every single toy he picks up must be played with, discussed and likely launched in some way across the room before it makes its way into the toy drawer.

6.  I’m wearing my new red Tom’s and they’re making me very happy.

7.  Don’t think that your four year old can’t open Instagram, snap a photo of his daddy picking his nose, pick a filter and then post the photo.  Don’t think that for one minute.

8.  I found a new cheese at Whole Foods last week called Parrano.  It is changing my life.  All of a sudden, instead of craving things like cookies, chocolate etc. I’m craving this cheese.  Normally I try to buy grass fed and/or raw milk cheeses and unfortunately I don’t believe this cheese is either of those things.  But I can’t help myself!!!!  It’s so YUMMY!

9.  My new life-changing cheese costs an unfortunate $12.99 a pound.

10.  I can’t think of a tenth thing because all I can think about is getting up and getting another bite of that cheese.

Here are some recent Instagrams, including the one of Daddy picking his nose -
