I am so very sorry for my friends in Minnesota and other such places north of the Mason-Dixon line, I really am. Because while y’all’ve got (that’s Texan for’ you all have got’) -18 degree wind chills, it’s 73 degrees down here in God’s country. Before you get too jealous I will point out that we did just endure the most amazingly hellish summer down here. And, y’all could move. Just sayin. Yesterday morning when we got up and got dressed it wasn’t that warm yet but I knew that it would be. So I started the day like this when the boys and I went for a walk to the playground.

Then as it warmed up around lunchtime, I took of the coat and the sweater and traded the jeans for shorts so I could soak up the sun. There is something about laying in the sun that really ministers to my soul.

Later when I had to go somewhere last night I switched back into the jeans and sweater. I even added the coat again. It’s always nice when you can transform an outfit throughout the day to make it work with your life.

Coat: Old Navy from a very long time ago.
Sweater: Banana Republic. One of my favs.
Lacy top: Guess via Plato’s Closet. Also from a very long time ago. One of the straps is secured with a safety pin, I’m not gonna lie.
Necklace: Crew Cuts. I was in there shopping the sales for the boys and saw this little necklace in the girl’s section. Every time I go into Crew Cuts I hold up some item or another from the girl’s section to see if it’ll fit me (it usually will!) and Jake always rolls his eyes and tells me to stop shopping at kids stores.
Jeans: Elle via Plato’s Closet.
Sandals: Banana Republic. I really want to invest in some Tory Burch or Jack Rogers sandals but I haven’t found the right deal at the right time yet. So I was looking all summer for a pair of nice looking sandals that weren’t too expensive and came across these at Banana. The straps are shiny patent leather and overall seemed to be pretty good quality.
