Beth Dreyer Photography Blog bio picture
  • Hi I'm Beth! Welcome to my blog! I am a Dallas, TX based custom baby, child and family photographer. I'm also a mom of two boys who strives to be fabulous {while managing snot, drool and spit up}, organic {in a chemically overdosed culture}, budget conscious {in a spendy metroplex}, keep up with a house {with a hectic schedule} and stay sane on top of all that. I write about all of those topics here in addition to posting all of my latest photography.

Our Home.

Well it’s about time.  I’ve bored you with my story about living with my parents, getting out of debt and having heart changes about spending.  Finally all of those things pay off in my own life and it takes me over a month to show you the fruits of my delayed gratification!  I’m so sorry.  It’s been a crazy month!!!  And you’d be surprised how involved of a process taking interior photographs is.  I’m a people photographer, not an interior photographer!  Anyway, I finally got around to it.  I’m about to give you a tour of my living room, kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom.  That’s all for now.  As I fix up these and other rooms I’ll be sure to tell you all about it.  Consider this a before of my new lifelong project:)

Welcome -

Ok so this is really a before before.  This is the photo in the online listing of our living room before we moved in and had it painted.

And here are some shots of it now!  Better no?

I adore painted paneling.  I think it gives such great character to a room!

Try not to be too jealous of our enormous square tv on wheels.  I’m just sayin – why did we get rid of tvs on wheels?  It’s fantastic!  If you want to watch it in another room just wheel it down the hall!

Fireplace with gas logs (angels singing).  We had a wood burning fireplace before.  No. Likey.

This little vignette makes me so very happy every time I look at it.

Next up a few shots of the kitchen.  Here’s another before -

I didn’t take a photo from the same angle, but if you look behind the table, you can see that we had that paneling painted as well.  Ha-uuuuge difference!

And finally our bedroom and bathroom.  The bathroom is my favorite.  Fantastic use of space.  I love my house!

Bedroom.  That’s pretty much all there is to see.  It’s a pretty big room but you’re looking at all the furniture in it right now -

Bathroom.  When we were walking through this house and I was falling in love with it, by the time I got to this bathroom I was ready to sign.  Double sinks.  Good for marriage  -

Built-in dresser -

Daisies are a really great bang for your buck.  They are super cheap and last forever!

Separate vanity.  Also good for marriage -

Separate walk-in closets (here’s mine) REALLY good for a marriage.  My closet smells like girl again!!!!

So overall you can go ahead and assume the our already solid marriage is only going to become stronger the longer we live in this house.  I hope you’ve enjoyed this tour;)
