Happy Valentines Day!!
I told you how I’ve recently found a whole slew of new blogs to follow. Well one of my new favs, Emily of Jones Design Company does a weekly post called What I Wore. Being the blog-stalker that I am, I enjoy seeing into other people’s daily lives – especially other creative moms. I’ve decided to imitate her (because as we all know, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery) by doing a weekly Fashion Friday post where I will show you four or five of my outfits for the week. I meant to do this post on Friday but I forgot (because that’s what I do) and posted about my website instead.
I have recently made a commitment to myself that I will try to get dressed and wear makeup every day. Wearing sweats or various types of workout apparel every day does not = getting dressed for me. I want my husband to come home to a wife he’s excited to see, not a slob who hasn’t combed her hair and smells like a gym. I’d really like to get to the point where I am dressed with makeup on before he leaves for work, but most days that doesn’t happen just yet! Since I am endeavoring to wear real clothes every day I figure that if I’m showing y’all what I’m wearing it will challenge me to be more creative in my outfits. Also since I don’t believe in perfectionism, if I spend the day in something grossly unattractive I’ll fess up about it. So here ladies and gentlemen is what I wore last week -

We’ll start with last Sunday because I’m not gonna lie, I looked good on Sunday
After spending all of the previous week being cooped up inside for all the snow days and NOT getting dressed or putting on makeup (or um showering…) I decided it was time to glam it up for Sunday.
Cardigan: Banana Factory Store
Necklace: Forever 21
Tank: Target
Belt: Talbots
Skirt: Banana Republic about 6 years ago
Tights: It’s hard to tell but they are a deep plum color and they are from Target
Shoes: Jessica Simpson that I got at Plato’s Closet for $11! I walk like a geisha in them, but they’re pretty!

Monday:
Scarf: A gift Ashley brought me from Thailand about 7 years ago.
Sweater: Old Navy. I bought this when I was extremely pregnant with Shep because it was $3!
Tank: H&M. Have y’all been to the new H&M preview store at Northpark?
Jeans: Citizens of Humanity. I did not get these jeans for $3 =)
Shoes: House shoes from the Simply Vera line at Kohl’s.

Tuesday: I think I ended up going somewhere on Tuesday but I can’t remember where….
Jacket: Gap. Bought it in high school!
Shirt: Old Navy
Belt: Goodwill
Corduroy Pants: J. Crew. Love these pants, the fit is amazing! I wish I had them in a denim. And yes they are pink.
Shoes: Pumas from Nordstrom. I never decided if I really liked these shoes with this outfit, but I wore them because I wherever I went I wanted to be comfy while I was walking.

Wednesday: Another Snow Day!
Tracksuit: Juicy Couture. If you’re going to wear sweats, let them be Juicy! I got this tracksuit for about 50% off which I think we can all agree was still way over priced =)
Turtleneck: Wal-Mart.
Shoes: Oh you can’t see my feet because I haven’t hemmed these pants yet. I’ll probably have to take off about 4 or 5 inches because that is how short my legs are.

Friday: I got to go have a business lunch with a sweet friend. And boy was I glad to leave the kids behind that day! =) =)
Sweater: Banana Factory Store.
Top: J. Crew
Jeans: Citizens of Humanity from Anthropologie. These jeans/jeggins drive me crazy. They are so stretchy that they just stretch right out and slide down. I’m constantly hiking them up! They’re cute, but I can only wear them for a few hours before I go crazy. I actually called Jake that day and told him that I was sorry but I HAD to get out of these jeans and put on something comfy before he got home. The jeans were annoying me and I didn’t want snot to get on that shirt or sweater. So I did revert back to the really old comfy sweats that I’m trying to get away from. Oh well.
Boots: No idea. I think they are from the 80′s, and by the time they came to me any labels or markings had been worn right off. I have them in brown, black and burgandy.

There you have it! It’s not Vogue, but it’s my life =)
